You know I see a lot of ambient IDM qualities in this song.

As for your mastering:
The mix is very good. Every instrument is very much present and out front. Effects on instruments are of course to your liking but I would have liked to see a little more reverb on that plucked string and the intro voice sounding synths that carry through the whole song.

Other aspects of the song:

Density - It seems a bit thin. Although this could be a desired level of density. I believe maybe more layers or a higher chaotic beat(as often in IDM occurs).

Melody/Percussion/Rhythm - The main lines all seems to carry a good harmonic and unified emotion behind them, as well as tie together with the sliced up amen break really well. I believe maybe a bit more dynamics are needed in the percussion for that truly professional level sound. If you don't know of him my suggestion would be to check out Nubbin. He is on this website as well (http://nubbinownz.newgrounds.com/)(r emove spaces in URL). He is a perfect example of having really dynamic percussion of this style, and also very high quality music.

All other/Overall:
The structure of the song works entirely and I love it. Your heart is truly in the right place with this one. If you would like an in depth analysis of any songs or just a general opinion/help you can PM me or email me (LogicalDefiance@gmail.com). I am also currently looking for someone who uses FL Studio to do a bit of a collaboration work for a big online game so feel free to ask. Stay cool and as always, Cheers!

Wow, almost missed this, I'm glad I wanted tpo listen to this song again. XD

Anyway, thanks for this review it's extremely helpful.

I had actually just been thinking that I wished I had put more effects in (I was trying to cut back since I usually go overboard with them) so I definitely agree. I did delete the flp though, unfortunately.

Density- I did actually mean for it to be pretty thin, but I wish I had been able to make the bass a little deeper and larger (more like a deep pad). It was hard to work with.

Melody/Percussion/Rhythm- I'm happy I was finally able to get the mel;ody/harmony right. Since I'm completely self-taught and have no backgrounf in music whatsoever, it is pretty hard to just go by ear. I'm glad I was finally able to. I'm still working with experimenting with the drums. I'm getting rather lazy, to be honest. I will keep this in mind for my next song, as I think it's still missing something. This may be it. As for Nubbin, I actually was inspired by him while making this. I'm a huge fan of his and wanted to do something more his style, without getting too close. (I wanted it to be borderline/barely IDM)

Overall- I will definitely remember this for the future and I may hit you up for that collab. I'll see how much spare time I have once school starts in a few days.

Once again, thanks. Reviews like these are why I post music and every time I get another it makes me want to work even harder for the next song. :)

Well if you know me-I'm a mix stickler. I poke fun of even the best mixes. As for this song I believe there are a few things you should look for in the future. One being relative volume between instruments(very very minor in this song). The other is the density of your song.

At certain times like intros and what not its nice to have a thinner density but one thing I noticed when you switched into using quater kicks (the main drop one might call it) the kicks remain the same instead of maybe a fatter louder kick and indeed theres no bassline at all so the motion seems to stay the same. Just some things to look into. Because its a bit thin of a density the mix is not as evidently off but still EQ research wouldn't hurt!

I love the song though so keep being awesome and as always, Cheers!

LOL, get this all the time now :P

working on eqing stuff better. but the kick thing is new to me, i will deffinantly use it :)

Indeed your heart is in the right place. The song itself is well handled and sounds great on many aspects, but the mix could definitely be improved. I would love to hear certain melodies EQ'd correctly so that they are all present. You are welcome to PM me or email me (LogicalDefiance@gmail.com) if you would like help on some aspects of EQing and using certain effects. Otherwise keep being awesome, Cheers,

Good job on that synth gate mate. Also a very interesting horn like lead intro synth. The mix sounds pretty clean as well-Impressive overall. Cheers,

Well the rapper has got it down but the song is lacking technically. Two main things I noticed that need work. 1-I would edit out all the breath inhales of the vocals because they are very present and hurt the rhythm. 2 - The mix needs some cleaning up. It's very muddy.

Really I see a lot of potential in this though so keep it up and work on studying mixing and mastering. Cheers,

Thanks LD :D
And yeah I was looking for mastering tips lately and were gunna start silincing our breaths and things.

But thanks hope you keep listning for more

The melody in the beginning was very beautiful and overall song was quite unique sounding despite the use of semi typical synths. The mix could use some cleaning up(and I may not be the best judge of that currently with these laptop speakers I'm on but I will take another listen later in the studio). Regardless you have caught my eye good sir, expect further reviews to come. Cheers!

You know not many people have the attention span to listen to a percussive intro like this one, but I thought you pulled it off fairly well. I would take off the effect on the drums you drop in around 25-28 seconds though or time it better for a drop. Also the kick drum, once fully in the song, is a beat on the weaker side. Maybe some boosting around 70-90hz on it would give the song a much fuller feel. Otherwise in general the song works. Keep at it good sir. Cheers!

I appreciate it. I knew I was taking a gamble, not being nearly good enough to make a 9min song sound that good..

...

Would be excellent for a goa trance style song. maybe cutoff some of the lows end freqs on the kick (<100hz) to give it more of an intro type of feel then bring it back with a solid bassline drop when you feel its ready. Keep workin at it! Cheers!
